Black Chalk Drawing, Study Of A Girl Seen From Behind, 18th Century, France.
A charming study of a nude little girl, seen from behind as she sits on a rock, her arms raised halfway to the right. A thick braid of twisted hair at the back of her head. A beautiful study of the child’s plump, rounded form. Chubby thighs, with touches of white gouache to highlight the rounded muscles. The left leg is very well rendered, as are the small buttocks and the arms.
