Miniature Portrait Of Auguste Strobl, After J.k. Stieler
Oval miniature signed by the copyist painter P. Rousselle. The work, measuring 10 x 7.5 cm (in a 17/14 cm frame), reproduces with great finesse the famous portrait of Auguste Strobl (1827), a jewel of King Ludwig I of Bavaria’s Gallery of Beauties. The subject is depicted wearing a white muslin dress, with her hair adorned with red-and-white striped ribbon bows in the Biedermeier style.
