Pair Of Ostrich Eggs With Metal/gilded Bronze Mounts And Zoomorphic Heads, 19th Century
An elegant pair of ostrich eggs mounted in gilded metal, designed as refined, openable ornamental containers.
Late 19th / Early 20th century
Each egg, characterized by the natural ivory color of the shell, consists of two separable halves. The opening line is embellished with a finely crafted metal band.
The mounts feature three slender supports with finials shaped like mythical animal heads and zoomorphic feet, resting on a tripod base. The top of each lid is adorned with a small gilded knob.
These objects possess a unique charm and originality, making them ideal for a Wunderkammer, a cabinet de curiosités, a decorative arts collection, or a sophisticated setting.
They exhibit patina and signs of age, as shown in the photographs.
