17th-century "virgin And Child"
Artist: à Définir
Magnificent carved wooden Virgin and Child, possibly dating from the 17th century or earlier. (Label marked “15th century” with handwritten text on the underside of the base.) From the chapel of a castle. Remarkable carving. In very good condition. Insect damage in places, which is quite normal for its era. Treatment has been performed. Very lovely patina! Fairly stable and heavy. Dimensions: 43 cm high by 15 cm wide by 12 cm deep. Visually, a very beautiful piece of religious art. It has a wonderful presence!
