Pair Of Ebonised Tub Armchairs With Floral Upholstery, France, Circa 1900

An elegant pair of French tub armchairs dating from around 1900, combining graceful proportions with refined upholstery and a sophisticated ebonised finish. The chairs feature a gently curved barrel-shaped back that flows seamlessly into the armrests, creating a comfortable and inviting silhouette.

The ebonised wooden frames provide a striking contrast to the beige floral upholstery, which is richly decorated with a woven pattern of flowers, foliage, and scrolling motifs in warm tones. Decorative braid trim outlines the upholstery panels and accentuates the chairs' elegant contours. The gently curved front legs and tapered rear legs further enhance the refined appearance of the design.

Balancing comfort and decorative appeal, these armchairs are versatile pieces that work beautifully as occasional seating in a living room, bedroom, library, or reception area. Their compact scale and timeless combination of dark wood and neutral upholstery make them easy to integrate into both traditional and eclectic interiors.

A charming pair of early 20th-century French armchairs offering both comfort and decorative character.

Good condition with normal signs of age and use. Minor wear consistent with age is present on both the frames and upholstery. The photos form an integral part of the description and condition report of these pieces.
