Adèle Agnès Evrard (1792–1889) —Biographical Information

Born in Ath, in what is now the province of Hainaut in Belgium, on October 5, 1792, and died in the same city on July 22, 1889, Adèle Agnès Evrard was a Belgian painter who specialized in still life.
She trained under her brother-in-law, the landscape painter Julien-Joseph Ducorron, and began exhibiting her works as early as 1819. She went on to participate in numerous exhibitions and salons in Belgium, France, and the Netherlands, contributing to the recognition of still-life painting in the first half of the 19th century.
Her artistic repertoire is characterized by floral compositions, fruit arrangements, and depictions of game—subjects in which she developed a keen eye for natural forms and textures.
Her participation in the Salons of Ghent, Brussels, and Antwerp attests to her sustained artistic activity. In 1836, she won a silver medal at the Brussels Salon for two floral compositions, *Flowers* and *Basket of Roses*, an honor that underscores the recognition her work received throughout her career.
