Large Antique German Solid 800 Silver Candelabra Corinthian Column Post-1888

Large Antique German Solid 800 Silver Five-Light Candelabra Corinthian Column Form Post-1888

An exceptional and highly decorative large-scale antique German five-light candelabra crafted from heavy gauge solid 800 silver, dating to the post-1888 period and bearing clear German national silver hallmarks including the crescent moon, imperial crown, and 800 purity mark.

This impressive museum-quality neoclassical design is centered around a tall fluted Corinthian column rising from a finely stepped square pedestal base richly decorated with gadrooned borders and continuous acanthus leaf molding. The highly detailed Corinthian capitals are beautifully cast with scrolling volutes and naturalistic acanthus ornament inspired by classical architectural forms.

Emerging from the central capital are four elegant sweeping reeded branches together with a central upright light, supporting a total of five elevated candle holders. Each individual socket is modeled in the form of a miniature Corinthian capital complete with wide circular drip pans finished with delicate beaded borders.

The candelabra displays exceptional architectural balance and a commanding decorative presence, making it an ideal statement centerpiece for both traditional and contemporary interiors. The entire surface maintains a superb highly reflective professionally polished silver finish throughout.

The official German crescent moon and imperial crown hallmarks confirm the piece as post-1888 German silver of the 800 standard, highly sought after by collectors of fine continental silver.

Condition is very good overall with only minor age-related surface wear consistent with careful use and age. The piece stands firmly and presents beautifully.
