Serpentine Column
Rare! ,
A majestic "serpentine" column with a rotating platter; it consists of four pieces.
It is therefore made of serpentine, not marble, as serpentine was not an option to choose from.
Note the scratches on the rotating base, evidence of its past use for displaying busts, bronzes, or other collectibles.
