Pair Of S J Rose Son Sterling Silver Goblets W/ Gilt Interior Cased London 1930
Pair of S. J. Rose & Son Sterling Silver Goblets with Gilt Interiors, London, 1930
A beautifully preserved pair of English sterling silver goblets by S. J. Rose & Son, hallmarked in London in 1930 and accompanied by their fitted presentation cases.
The goblets have graceful chalice-shaped bowls, polished exteriors and richly coloured gilt interiors. Turned baluster stems rise from domed circular feet, giving the pair a balanced, elegant profile. Each goblet bears matching hallmarks near the rim: the S.J.R. maker’s mark, lion passant, London leopard’s head and date letter p.
Condition is excellent. The silver presents beautifully, and the gilding inside both bowls remains in excellent order. The goblets are housed in fitted red presentation cases with velvet bases and cream silk-lined lids.
