Blue-and-white Chinese Porcelain Vase – 19th Century, Qing Dynasty.
Chinese blue-and-white porcelain flower vase – 19th century, Qing Dynasty
Chinese porcelain flower vase with blue-and-white decoration, from the 19th century, made during the Qing Dynasty (1644–1912).
This piece captivates with its unique silhouette: five rounded compartments surround a long central neck, crowned by an opening shaped like a blooming flower. Designed to hold the stems separately, it allows for the creation of a bouquet in which the flowers naturally follow the lines of the porcelain.
Its underglaze cobalt-blue decoration features an interlacing pattern of floral scrolls and foliage. The shades of blue—sometimes delicate, sometimes deep—stand out against the white background and accentuate the piece’s form. A frieze of multilobed motifs enlivens the shoulder, while long, stylized leaves adorn the lower section. The neck echoes this botanical motif and culminates in a crown of raised petals.
With its architectural design and rich ornamentation, this flower vase is a beautiful collector’s item for enthusiasts of 19th-century Chinese porcelain. It also fits perfectly into any interior, where its decorative presence speaks for itself, with or without flowers.
