émile Decœur Vase, Sèvres Porcelain Factory, Four-lobed Shape
Vase by Émile Decœur (1876–1953), made at the Sèvres Porcelain Manufactory.
This porcelain vase from the Manufacture nationale de Sèvres was produced in 1930 based on a four-lobed design created by the ceramicist Émile Decœur (1876–1953). Resting on an oval base, the piece is distinguished by its finely craquelé enamel decoration, featuring a color gradient ranging from midnight blue at the neck and foot to shades of powder pink and flesh tones on the body.
The underside of the piece bears all of the manufacturer’s original markings, notably the Sèvres mark accompanied by form number 56, the inscription “BODEN” referring to the decorator Lucie Boden, as well as the technical code “30.08.1B,” indicating its year of manufacture (1930) and its registration number.
