American Carousel Motorcycle, Early 20th Century

An American carousel figure representative of early 20th-century carnival art (circa 1930), depicting a carved and painted wooden motorcycle.

Original hand-painted polychrome decoration (engine, wheels, exhaust pipe) on a red, yellow, and blue background. The front features a license plate marked “TON 1” as well as a headlight covered with a riveted metal plate. The handlebars are made of turned wood.

The entire piece rests on its original iron mounting plate beneath the wheels. The item shows a patina consistent with its age. The fabric covering the seat needs to be replaced.
