Artist: Jean Prouvé
SCAL daybed designed by Jean Prouvé, in the version with a swivel side table designed in collaboration with Charlotte Perriand, circa 1955.The black-lacquered metal frame features a black tufted mattress and a cylindrical bolster. At the ends, wooden panels form the bed’s frame, while the pivoting wooden side table provides a small additional surface accessible directly from the bed. This version thus combines Jean Prouvé’s rational design with Charlotte Perriand’s exploration of the uses and versatility of domestic furniture.Seat height: 41 cmManufacturer: Steph Simon, circa 1955.Bibliography: C.
