"Low Stool By Hans Bellmann, Horgen Glarus, Switzerland, Circa 1950"
Low tripod stool designed by Hans Bellmann in the 1950s for the Swiss manufacturer Horgen Glarus. Made from molded birch plywood, this understated, stackable model is part of the functionalist tradition of post-war Swiss design. The curved L-shaped base and round seat reflect the influence of Scandinavian furniture, particularly that of Alvar Aalto, while asserting an aesthetic specific to Bellmann's structural language: legibility of forms, economy of material, rational use of technology. Manufacturer: Horgen Glarus, circa 1950, distributed by Wohnbedarf.
