Large Oak Display Bookcase – Napoleon III Period
A substantial antique oak display bookcase with beautiful proportions, featuring the sturdy and understated construction typical of large commercial or library furniture from the late 19th century.
The upper section opens via four large glass doors, revealing numerous shelves for displaying books, collectibles, earthenware, or porcelain.
The shelves are adjustable on rails.
The lower section is particularly functional, featuring a substantial set of twelve large drawers, arranged across four sections.
Several still retain their label holders and metal shell-shaped handles, attesting to its former use as a storage cabinet or workbench.
Beautiful warm brown patina of the oak, with attractive grain.
The molded cornice and the solid base give the piece a particularly decorative presence.
Due to its substantial dimensions, this piece would be perfectly suited for a large library, a cabinet of curiosities, a boutique, a restaurant, or a spacious reception room.
