Important 12-arm 18th-century Bronze And Crystal Chandelier

A significant chandelier from around 1760 with 12 light arms arranged in two rows.

Structure and shaft: Bronze frame partially gilded with mercury. The central shaft consists of a series of cut-glass baluster elements, interspersed with bronze components. The piece is topped at the base by a large solid-glass finial (from a later period).
​Lighting arrangement: Chandelier featuring two rows of dynamically curved gilded bronze arms fanning out like a corolla around the central shaft.
​Trim and crystals: Rich decoration consisting of pendants, scalloped plates, and drops in cut crystal, as well as rock crystal cabochons. The attachment points are concealed by sculpted rosettes and fleurons.
​Spikes: Large baluster-shaped spikes made of cut crystal are arranged on the lower row, alternating with the light arms (3 of a different design dating from the 19th century).
​Recently electrified and in good working order (sockets designed to resemble candles, fitted with flame-shaped bulbs).

A few pendants are missing; overall in good condition.
