Pair Of Art Deco Cement And Mosaic Bowls / Planters, Circa 1930, Mallet-stevens (bases)
Artist: Mallet-stevens
Pair of Art Deco basins attributed to the architect and designer Mallet-Stevens, circa 1930.
A well-known model of outdoor jar/basin with its base, sold as a pair. Relatively rare garden furniture on the market and here in good condition, blue in color (weathered and showing some signs of wear). The interiors of the vases are tarred and ready for use.
No glass tesserae are missing; there are only a few chips on the silver-plated parts. The cement seam where the hemispherical blocks meet gives the appearance of a crack (see photo), but the structural condition of both jars is perfectly fine.
Dimensions: 50 cm in diameter, 59 cm tall with the base, 46 cm tall without the base.
The bases measure 13 cm by 13 cm.
