Marcel Alocco

Artist: Marcel Alocco
Marcel Alocco (1937-...) is a painter, writer and poet. In the early 1960s, he was an active member of the School of Nice (Fluxus, Ben), the city he was born in, before participating in the Supports/Surfaces movement, for the theorization of painting. He develops a reflection on the image and its relationship to painting, developing a poetic and theoretical written work. This work comes from the "Fragments" Series initiated in 1973, with the idea that "Painting overflows", that is to say that it goes beyond the framework of art, more specifically from the studio of the artist to incorporate and mingle with daily life. Hence these collages by fragments which recompose an image from papers collected from everyday life. The work is signed (stamped) and dated.
