Small Oak Smoking Table, Art Deco Period – 1930
This elegant Art Deco smoking table made of oak stands out for its sculptural appearance and understated refinement, blending the warmth of solid wood with a geometric design typical of the 1930s. Its circular top, edged with copper trim, creates a play of volumes that captures the light and highlights the texture of the oak, while two small compartments, fitted with delicate ring handles, open with sliding shutters.
This pedestal table was traditionally used as a smoking table to store cigarettes, cigars, or accessories, with the compartments serving as small boxes or humidors.
The base, composed of curved legs connected by horizontal crossbars, creates a harmonious and stable silhouette, where architectural precision blends with the soft lines characteristic of Art Deco aesthetics.
