Photo Album Of Imperial Russia: 23 Photographs—a Troika Setting From The Late 19th Century
An old travel photo album dedicated to Imperial Russia, primarily St. Petersburg and its surroundings, containing 23 vintage photographs.
The images depict several iconic monuments and sites in the Russian capital and its surroundings: the Winter Palace, St. Isaac’s Cathedral, the Hermitage, the banks of the Neva River, the port, palaces, and monuments in St. Petersburg, as well as several views of Peterhof.
Some photographs still bear their handwritten or printed captions, in French or Russian.
The binding is adorned with a relief scene depicting a Russian troika, racing through a winter landscape with a sleigh and a coachman.
The metal decoration is framed by a brass border. The spine is covered in embossed black leather, with age-related wear and scuffing. The back cover of the album is brown paneled.
