A very beautiful and large Buddha of Burmese origin from the late 18th to early 19th century, carved from wood and gilded with polychrome paint, depicted seated in a meditative posture on a lotus-shaped pedestal. The Buddha has a serene face, with magnificent eyes made of sulfide. It features a finely crafted headdress and a beautiful expression characteristic of Burmese Buddhist sculpture. The piece retains its original gilding, traces of red polychrome, and a patina from age. The base is particularly intricately carved and adorned with plant motifs and lotus petals.
