A charming footrest carved from walnut wood with Renaissance-style grotesque and arabesque motifs, crafted during the reign of Napoleon III.
In good condition, it was reupholstered in the 1980s with an unsuitable fabric, but at the same time, the padding was completely redone and the joints were reinforced.
It is therefore very sturdy and is just waiting to be upholstered with a beautiful velvet or silk fabric.
