An elegant, richly ornamented oval bowl in silver-plated metal,crafted by Cailar & Bayard, fitted with a refined inner glass linerdecorated with an engraved geometric frieze. The bowl rests on fourdelicately designed legs ending in clawed feet and features, all around itsperimeter, an abundant applied floral decoration composed of roses, leaves, andscrollwork.On either side rise tall handlesgracefully curved, surmounted by seated winged putti holding a bow andarrows—a clear evocation of Love/Cupid. This motif extends into thedelicate foliage and floral decoration surrounding the handles. In the center of thelong side is an oval medallion set within abow-shaped frame and surrounded by floral garlands.
