Beautiful Empire-style writing desk in burl mahogany veneer.
The top opens to reveal a mirrored back (mercury-coated tin), compartments, a candlestick, and a removable pen holder.
A drawer reveals a retractable leather-lined shelf and an inkwell.
Rear legs are flat columns; front legs are solid columns with gilt-bronze bands.
Concave base, bullet-shaped feet.
Buffered varnish applied in our workshop.
