Empire-style writing desk made of Cuban mahogany burl.
The drop-down tabletop features a mercury mirror on the underside and reveals storage compartments, a silver-plated candlestick, and a green velvet pin cushion, both of which are removable. Front drawer opens to reveal a writing compartment lined with green leather and a gilded frieze with small ironwork details; on the side are compartments for inkwells and pen holders.
Rests on column-shaped legs adorned with engraved gilded bronze rings. H-shaped crossbar.
