Vase Signed "gentil Et Bourdet," With A Silver-plated Base And Neck
Artist: Gentil Et Bourdet
Vase from the 1930s; it can be used as a lamp base. This same model is on display at the Musée des Années 30 (Boulogne-Billancourt); ours features very deep chiseling, with much more pronounced high relief. The silver-plated accents are not present on the museum’s model. Gentil and Bourdet made a name for themselves with their design of the swimming pool in Roubaix (which has since become a museum) and the “Louxor” movie theater.
