Antique Church Candleholder In Gilded Bronze/brass, In The Neo-gothic Style, 19th Century

This large candleholder features particularly elaborate decoration, inspired by medieval liturgical furnishings.

The upper part is adorned with a crown-shaped, crenellated candle holder, characteristic of the Neo-Gothic decorative style.

The cylindrical shaft, richly chiseled, is decorated with geometric cross-hatch patterns forming diamond shapes, combined with friezes of foliage.

The entire piece rests on a tripod base adorned with bas-reliefs. Each side features a religious figure, likely a saint or an angel in prayer. The three legs end in lion’s claws, lending the piece a striking decorative presence.

An interesting piece due to its size, the richness of its decoration, and its inspiration drawn directly from medieval art and religious furnishings.
