Gheorghe Ionescu-Sin (1896–1988) was a prominent artist of the Romanian School whose work is firmly rooted in the figurative and Post-Impressionist movements. He often painted en plein air, using a generous application of paint and demonstrating a keen sense of light. He lived for a time in Paris, where he undoubtedly benefited greatly from his interactions with the most prominent members of the School of Paris. Several museums in Romania, the National Museum of Art of Romania in Bucharest, and certain regional art museums hold works by him.
