Welcome to my shop.

This richly decorated French chalice rests on a polylobed base made of gilded bronze. The base and stem feature engraved designs of grape clusters, foliage, and ornamental friezes. Three silver medallions depict Christ, the Virgin Mary, and Saint Joseph. The gilded bronze base echoes the engraved design of the pedestal, while the upper part of the cup is made of silver.

The silver cup bears three hallmarks, including a French Minerva hallmark. The master’s mark, in the shape of a diamond, consists of two letters separated by a star. The second letter is an F; the silversmith has not yet been identified.

This chalice likely dates from the late 19th century. It is in good condition for its age, with slight signs of use and some localized wear on the gilding. It has not been restored. The paten is missing.
