Antique Embroidered Silk Velvet Cushion – 19th Century
A splendid antique cushion dating from the 19th century, crafted from sumptuous silk velvet in a deep burgundy hue, its beauty fully brought to life by the velvet’s shifting, shimmering hues.
The center is adorned with a magnificent, majestic flower, delicately embroidered with threads in shades of powder pink, coral, dusty pink, and gold, accompanied by long foliage and elegantly drawn scrolls. The finesse and texture of the embroidery attest to the remarkable textile craftsmanship of the era.
The cushion is surrounded by generous polychrome fringes, in beautiful shades of red, burgundy, and coppery pink, which beautifully highlight its shape and give it a particularly decorative presence.
The back is made of a beautiful honey-colored fabric, providing a warm contrast to the burgundy velvet. A zipper is in place, allowing convenient access to the inside of the cushion.
A truly beautiful antique textile piece—at once opulent, warm, and spectacular—that will naturally find its place in an elegant interior, on a sofa, an armchair, or a bed.
In very good overall condition.
Dimensions: 65 cm x 44 cm – thickness approximately 19 cm.
A cushion with character, particularly appealing for the quality of its velvet, the beauty of its floral embroidery, and the abundance of its fringes.
