Carved Walnut Coffee Table – Neo-renaissance Style – 19th Century
A beautiful walnut coffee table in the Neo-Renaissance style, featuring particularly decorative design elements.
The base consists of two substantial, ornate upright posts, the fronts of which are adorned with carved lion-head mascarons, resting on molded legs.
They are joined by a low crossbar adorned with an elegant row of turned balusters.
The rectangular tabletop has slightly beveled corners and appears to consist of two sections, presumably allowing it to be opened or extended.
The simply molded trim highlights the wood’s beautiful grain and warm patina.
A piece of character, typical of the historicist taste of the second half of the 19th century, which can be used as a game table, parlor table, or coffee table.
