Simone Louise Marie GRUET was born in Saint-Dié in the Vosges in 1897. She died in Loches in 1996. As the wife of painter Joseph Letournier, she exhibited at the Salon des Tuileries from 1940 to 1944. The painting is showcased in a carved wooden “Montparnasse” frame.
