Antique ball bouquet holder from the Palais-Royal.
Made of finely crafted mother-of-pearl with a gilded metal setting, circa 1820.

The cone-shaped body is formed of wide mother-of-pearl petals with iridescent sheen, arranged like a flower bud and held together at the base by a gilded metal frame adorned with foliage.

The long handle, also made of mother-of-pearl, ends in an openwork, sculpted motif in the shape of a plant scroll, characteristic of the refined taste found in the small luxury objects sold in the galleries of the Palais-Royal in Paris.
A delicate chain is attached to the bouquet holder and ends in a pin, designed to secure it in place when in use.
This type of bouquet holder was used by fashionable women to display and preserve small bouquets of flowers during outings, balls, and evening events.
The piece displays fine craftsmanship, with a subtle interplay between the white, cream, and iridescent mother-of-pearl and the gold accents of the setting.
