Louis XVI-style Chest Of Drawers With Rounded Sides, Made In The Faubourg

A charming little Louis XVI-style chest of drawers in mahogany veneer, a fine piece of craftsmanship from the Faubourg Saint Antoine dating from around 1930.
With ideal proportions, this chest of drawers rests on four beautifully turned barrel legs adorned with bronze feet at their ends.
The body features a slight central projection and opens with three drawers at the front, featuring geometric veneer decoration accented by Louis XVI-style lock plates and bronze pull knobs.
The sides are rounded and feature attractive geometric veneer work in squares—more precisely, four-petal motifs.
A lovely raised belt accentuates the curve above the legs, and this curve is echoed in the beautiful purple brocatelle that tops the piece.
The brocatelle is original.
The drawers are fitted with dovetail joints and function perfectly.
No major restoration is required; this chest of drawers is in excellent condition and has been finished with a subtle, understated satin varnish.
