French Firefighter's Sword, 1855
Infantry sword made of bronze, brass, and steel. Bronze hilt with 26 flutes or strands and a guard with two quillons; leather and brass scabbard. CIRCA 1855.
There are traces of rust on the blade and verdigris on the bronze. The leather of the scabbard shows signs of wear but is well-preserved.
