Bar And Seashell Stools, 20th Century, Grotto Style
An incredible set consisting of a bar and matching stools, entirely decorated with seashells, created by a Breton seashell artist in the 1950s–1960s in the “grotto” style. Each seashell, meticulously selected and delicately arranged, tells a unique story, transforming this set into a true work of art.
The natural hues of the local seashells (tellina, scallops, periwinkles) come together to create a true symphony of colors and textures. What makes this piece so special is the artist’s meticulous attention to every detail: every surface has been carefully decorated. The front, back, sides, interior, and even the facade are entirely adorned with seashells. The stools are also intricately crafted on all four sides as well as on their undersides.
This unique and singular piece, both poetic and majestic, will bring a touch of extreme originality to your home. Every glance at this ensemble becomes an invitation to dream, to escape, and to the sea.
