Officer's sword from the École des Mines de Saint-Étienne, France, founded on August 2, 1816, by royal decree of Louis XVIII.
Gilded bronze hilt.
Highly ornate pommel featuring ovals embroidered with pearls on a sandblasted background.
Joint arch decorated with coiled laurel branches, with a central ring surrounded by acanthus leaves.
Crossguard ending in a bunch of grapes.
Mother-of-pearl trigger guard with two lateral and vertical grooves.
Openwork guard, without counterguard, bordered with acanthus leaves, bearing a central escutcheon with a hammer and miner’s pick on a sandblasted background and resting on four flags, flanked by a laurel branch on the left and an oak branch on the right.
Triangular blade etched in the upper third with a floral design and bearing the COULEAU & CIE KLINGENTHAL mark on the heel.
Scarlet lanyard included.
Black leather scabbard with a center seam and two brass fittings.
Chappe with chiseled decoration at the bottom and an oval chappe button bordered with pearls on a sandblasted background.
Long pommel decorated with two lateral lines.

Blade width at the heel: 1.5 cm
