Napoleon III Candlesticks
Pair of impressive gilded bronze candlesticks – French-made, Napoleon III period
A splendid pair of impressive gilded bronze candlesticks, of remarkable presence and decorative richness, French-made, from the Napoleon III period, second half of the 19th century.
The pair features an elaborate and finely chiseled structure, characterized by richly decorated architectural bases, volutes, rocaille motifs, foliage, cartouches, masks, and refined applied female figures.
The shafts, with an elegant, classical design, extend into a composition of multiple curved arms, adorned with plant motifs, volutes, and striking decorative elements.
The rich ornamentation and the quality of the craftsmanship lend the candelabra a remarkable grandeur and a distinctly dramatic character, typical of high-quality French production from the Napoleonic III era.
The candelabras were later electrified and retain their electrical system, including lamp holders and wiring, as shown in the photographs. The electrification was added after the original creation.
Height of the bronze portion only: 66 cm each
Height including the fabric lampshade: 85 cm each
Weight: approximately 9 kg each
Sold exclusively as a pair.
These pieces have a striking decorative impact and are particularly well-suited for classical interiors, historic residences, reception rooms, entryways, and distinguished period settings.
