Deep Earthenware Salad Bowl, Late 18th Century

We present this deep, scalloped salad bowl from the Revolutionary period, dating from the late 18th century.
We initially thought it might be from Nevers, but we have some doubts and now suggest it might be from Auxerre or Ancy-le-Franc?
It features extensive scalloping along the upper rim, and the design on the bottom depicts a National Guard soldier wearing tight-fitting short breeches with stockings and a military uniform with epaulets, as well as a headdress—a hat or fur-trimmed cap (shaqo). He has all the gear of a citizen soldier.
This earthenware piece can be dated to between 1789 and 1795.
It was pieced together, as is often the case, and we entrusted it to a talented restorer who did what needed to be done and filled in the holes.
Given this restoration, we will ask for a fair price.
It rings very well.
