Pair of Empire-style armchairs in solid cherry wood – 19th century

A beautiful pair of Empire-style armchairs, crafted from solid cherry wood, dating from the early 19th century.

These armchairs feature the elegant design characteristic of the Empire period, with a slightly sloping rectangular backrest, straight front legs, and saber-shaped rear legs. The armrests, which are particularly elegant, are slightly curved and feature fluted carvings on their front sides.

The cherry wood has a lovely warm hue and a beautiful antique patina, highlighting the simplicity and balance of the lines.

The backrests and seats are currently upholstered in yellow-green velvet, secured with upholstery tacks. The fabric shows signs of wear, and the seat of one of the armchairs is torn. The upholstery will therefore need to be reupholstered, allowing the future owner to choose the fabric of their choice.

The cherry wood frames show normal marks and minor wear consistent with their age.
