Chéri Desprin Oil Lamp, designed for illuminating sewing machines, in black-painted metal decorated with gilt scrollwork, with brass and glass elements

It bears the inscription “Chéri Desprin – Breveté S.G.D.G." and a serial number "19820"

The lamp is fitted with an adjustable clamp-type mounting system, allowing it to be securely attached directly to a sewing machine or to a desk. It also features a small control lever on the body of the lamp: turning it to the right releases the fabric, while turning it to the left extinguishes the flame

The lamp has been tested and is still fully functional

A beautiful and rare object dating from the late 19th century, both decorative and a testament to the ingenuity of lighting systems associated with the world of sewing machines
