Aeply is a reproduction process invented by the painter Jean Fautrier and his partner Jeanine Aeply in 1950. The artwork is reproduced using a chalcographic process on paper, where the paint is applied by hand as if it were an original work. The artist ceased production around 1955, and of the 300 prints originally planned, only about thirty were ever released to the market.
