Rare Covered Glove Box In Limoges Porcelain – R. Delignières & Cie
Rare covered glove box in Limoges porcelain, produced by the R. Delignières & Cie manufactory, active in Limoges from 1879 to 1900.
Beyond its impressive dimensions, the piece features a sumptuous polychrome decoration on a celestial blue ground, enhanced by exceptional gilt ornamentation.
Hand-painted floral bouquets, cartouches, scrolling foliage, volutes and Rococo-inspired motifs create a richly elaborate decorative composition.
The gilding is in remarkable condition, exceptionally fresh and abundant, beautifully highlighting the entire decoration.
The underside bears the characteristic “R. Delignières & Cie Limoges” mark, together with the “D.C. France” mark under the glaze, allowing the manufacture to be precisely dated to the period 1879–1900.
Thanks to its impressive size, the quality of its decoration and the exceptional preservation of its gilding, this piece is a fine example of late 19th-century Limoges porcelain.
