Louis XV-style Desk And Office Set

LOUIS XV-STYLE WRITING DESK AND FLAT DESK, in rosewood veneer:
1. The writing desk:
Largedisplay cabinet or bookcase with side panels in Coromandel Chinese lacquer decorated with Asian motifs, made ofwood veneer,
Curved and dynamically shaped
Thisdisplay cabinet opens with four doors, two of which are glass-paned and two solid, imitatingFar Eastern lacquerwork and depicting landscapes, pagodas, andvegetation.
Thestructure is enhanced by cascading gilded and chiseled bronze moldings,
It restson arched legs and gilded bronze feet.
Theupper section, with a molded cornice and topped with marble, features a cut-out, undulating shape.
The topis crowned with “fleur de pécher” breccia marble.

2. The desk:
Aflat-fronted desk adorned withChinese lacquer and richly decorated with cascades of gilded bronze, finelychiseled on the legs and feet. 
It featuresfive drawers, including one in the center and two on each side.
Thedrawers on each side, finished in Chinese lacquer, feature an Asian motif—namely, alively scene with figures and a mountainous landscape,  
Thesides of this desk feature a central panel in dark lacquer, alsowith an Asian motif—figures in traditional dress amidstylized vegetation, a pagoda, etc.
Scallopedtop, with a havana-colored leather surface and sliding side shelves, also covered with original patinatedleather.
Gilded brass moldings and mascarons at each corner. 
Theentire piece rests on curved cabriole legs, the upper part of which—the shoulder—is embellished with a bronze trim.
