A large earthenware plate adorned with a magnificent, lively landscape, featuring rocks and ruins lining an inlet beneath a sky of shifting colors.Marli decorated with landscapes of ruins and mountains separated by four medallions that may represent symbolic figures of the elements of nature: Aeolus, Hades, Poseidon.Signed “Noleau” on the rim; the back is "Fake wood"brown; signed “LM & C” (stamped) déposé in the center, indicating Creil and Montereau; this signature shows that the dish was created between 1840 and 1876.
