Large Candlestick - Ferdinand Barbedienne - Gilded Brass - Napoleon III
Large Renaissance-style candlestick made of electroplated gold-plated copper. It features a re-engraved design of leafy volutes.
Using a technique developed by Ferdinand Barbedienne (caster), Constant Sévin (designer), and Désiré Attarge (engraver), these rare pieces are electroformed from a single mold.
Note the rarity of this model.
Paris, dated 1869
Signature on the mold (partially visible around the rim of the base): F. Barbedienne, Paris - C. Sévin 1869 - D. Attarge Fit (Fecit).
Very good condition; some wear on the original gilding. No restoration or damage.
Very easy to convert into a lamp.
