Rare giant ceremonial copper coquemar, reinforced with riveted wrought-iron fittings and bearing the maker's stamp. Swiss workmanship, 18th century. Empty weight: approximately 8 kg.

This impressive piece of copperware stands 55 cm high, reaching nearly 70 cm with the lid fully open. Maximum width: 45 cm. Diameter: 28 cm. Estimated capacity: approximately 12 litres.

Hand-hammered throughout, the vessel retains clear evidence of its traditional manufacture. Characteristic "wolf-tooth" seam joints remain visible on the body, lid and rolled base. The copper body is reinforced by a substantial framework of wrought-iron straps riveted from top to bottom. The fitting includes a powerful carrying handle, a thumb-operated hinge mechanism, and a tall rolled lid bearing the stamp of the master coppersmith.

Condition:
The piece has clearly seen practical use. The body shows slight deformation from service, adding to its authenticity without detracting from its striking appearance. The iron elements display expected wear and light surface corrosion. Two rivets at the base have failed (see red arrows), though this has no structural consequence and does not affect display.

The architecture of this object is particularly remarkable. Its scale, weight and robust iron framework create an exceptional presence. One can easily imagine that, once filled, handling such a vessel would have required considerable strength.
