Wolfers Frères, Double Salt And Condiment Set In Solid Silver With Vermeil And Aventurine, Ca. 1950

Artist: Marcel Wolfers

Elegant double salter or table condiment set crafted by Wolfers Frères in Brussels, likely around the 1950s. The design may have been created by Marcel Wolfers (or Charles Geets...).

In a neoclassical style with modernist influences, the 925/1000 sterling silver vermeil (gilded with fine gold) frame holds two polished green semi-precious stone cups (aventurine), joined around a twisted central stem topped by a large matching sphere.

The small ball-shaped feet and the delicacy of the setting lend the piece a particularly refined character.

The piece bears the Wolfers Frères hallmark featuring a boar’s head surmounting the letter W, as well as the A925 hallmark, indicating sterling silver.

Good condition.
Dimensions: 6.5 x 10 x 5.5 cm

A fine example of postwar Belgian goldsmithing, combining precious metal and semi-precious stones in a style that is both luxurious and modernist.
