Rare Solid Glass "conscript's Cane" (glassmaker's Cane), Circa 1900.

Solid glass cane, entirely made of transparent glass decorated with blue and green polychrome threads twisted into a spiral. The barrel, with a length of 93 cm, ends with a remarkable bulging pommel of ovoid/spherical shape, in which the colored threads come to concentrate and form a particularly decorative decoration. The piece, heavy and entirely solid, bears witness to particularly elaborate glass work. This type of cane is traditionally compared to glassmakers' canes and so-called conscript canes, objects made in glassworks as demonstrations of know-how or personal objects. The presence of irregularities and small bubbles in the glass contributes to the artisanal character of the piece. France, around 1900.
