Gd Monogrammed Wedding Handkerchief - Valenciennes Lace And Passionflower Garland
An exceptional and authentic bridal (or ladies’) handkerchief dating from the late 19th century (circa 1880–1890), a refined example of the high-quality trousseaus of the era. It features a wide border of Valenciennes lace with square meshes made from four braided threads, created using bobbins and renowned for its delicacy and durability. The central section, made of very fine cotton linen, bears the initials "G-D" entirely hand-embroidered and framed by a garland of passionflower blossoms and other scrollwork. Fine antique linen, gently washed and ironed.
